Dr Jafar Khan did MBBS, from MGM medical college Indore in year 2000 and MD paediatrics from same institute in the year 2004. Subsequently he worked in various government hospital for a period of 6 years. Subsequently he joined DNB neonatology at Fernandez hospital for women and newborns, Hyderabad in year 2010. This rigorous training spanning 3 years included all aspects of neonatology, antenatal counselling, management of high risk and ELBW infants, functional echo and Neurosonogram.
Fernandez hospital is one of the best institute in for high risk pregnancy and fetal medicine. Fernandez hospital conducts almost 15000- 20000 birth in a year, hence he dealt with en number of extreme preterm infants, extreme low birth weight babies and extreme high risk newborn babies. Took experience of caring 25 weeker and < 500gm babies.
He passed DNB neonatology exit exam in 2012. He awarded Dr S. Jayam gold medal for first rank in national DNB exit exam held in 2012. He had the distinct identity of being the first neonatal superspecialist in central India.
He started his own neonatal intensive care unit in 2016 in SNS hospital at Khazrana road, Srinagar Indore. Over a period of 6 year that unit expanded from 5 bed to 20 beds with all kinds of special gadgets used in neonatology like whole body cooling machine, cerebral function monitoring, bed side echo machine etc. over a period of 6 years around 3500- 4000 newborn babies were admitted and discharged.
In year 2019 he handled a quadruplet of 26 week (weighing <650 gram), All 4 babies were discharge after 90 days of treatment.
In 2021 started Lotus healthcare hospital for women and newbornat 19 diamond colony, near Agrawal Store JanjeerwalaChouraha, Indore. Lotus healthcare hospital is 70 bedded hospitals for women, pediatric and newborn babies.
At present Lotus healthcare hospital is having 30 neonatal intensive beds with 8 ventilators and 6 CPAP/ HFNC.
